Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox born December 25, 1954, Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother as is Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 1970s where she took flute lessons and the harpsichord over three years. She was able to survive by surviving on a student stipend, while working part time jobs. Lennox was a student in the Royal Academy of Music in London, was not happy about her performances compared to that of her peers. She started to think about other options. Lennox played flute with a group called Dragons Playground in 1976. She left the band prior to her group being asked to participate in I.T.V.'s talent contest New Faces. Between 1977 and 1980, she was the vocalist in The Tourists. A British pop group. The band she was in, was introduced to Dave Stewart. Together they created The Eurythmics pop duo. Lennox went on to record her debut solo album Diva. It was released in 1992. Commercially and critically the album was a massive success. Nostalgia Lennoxs 6th solo album was Released in the month of October 2014. The C.D. Lennox has selected her top blues, soul and jazz tracks. Also, in May of 2019, Lennox released Lepidoptera an album of four improvised piano tracks. The E.P. The E.P. is her debut self-produced album as well as a follow-up to an art installation she made at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art entitled Now I Let you go...
